Devils Split versus L.A. Schools

So I've been unable to get to the blog lately but I thought I'd give you all some reading from the last week of ASU basketball. The Sun Devils again lost badly to the uber-talented UCLA Bruins, but avenged an earlier loss to USC by beating the Trojans 80-66. Only two games remain on the schedule for the regular season, as the Devils take the road to Oregon where they should be able to win both games and finish 10-8 in Pac-10 play and 20-10 for the season if all goes well. Until then, here's what all the other sites are saying about the last two games:

USC Game:

I'll be back later this week with some thoughts on the end of the Devils' regular season and a look at the Pac-10 Tournament as well as ASU's shot at March Madness.

Jay Bilas at ESPN gave Harden some nice love-Harden made his first team honor roll this past week and wrote a nice piece....

• Another You Should Know: "There is another freshman in the Pac-10 that would be considered a national freshman of the year candidate if he played in another conference. Arizona State's James Harden is having a great first year, and he is one of the best players in the country. He is not just one of the best freshmen, but one of the best players. Harden is lefty, long-armed and an exceptional athlete. He can get to the basket and finish plays with authority, and he can get his own shot. Against USC, Harden had 24 points on 7-of-8 from the field and 9-of-10 from the line. Solid defensively and a really good teammate, Harden would be "All-Everything" if he played at UCLA or Indiana. He should be anyway."

Great national coverage. He should be getting plenty of that come next season, or even later this year when the Devils make a run in the Tournament.
