Every so often here at PFN, we like to catch up with the guys that have gone on to success after being a Sun Devil. Take for instance Nick's stellar interview with Brett Wallace last week.
It might actually be more fun to look at the guys that couldn't hack it in Tempe and then moved on to a situation where it just didn't work out (this guy is on the cover of the book on it; he also wrote the forward).
Derek Shaw, Brett Boon, Ben Olson and others belong to this exclusive club. It's yet to see, however, if Dax Crum will become the next member of the brain trust.
Crum is your new starter at the University of Wyoming, according to The Sporting News and College Football Talk. He spent time at Arizona State buried (and I mean BURIED) on the depth chart, but even as a scout teamer, he never made any progress for the Sun Devils.
To his credit, he became a prolific passer at Mesa CC, even earning honors as the NJCAA Region I Co-Player of the year in 2007. He'll be under center for a Cowboys team that ranked 107th in the nation in total offense last year. Guh. Dax has got his work cut out for him for the boys from Laramie, who finished 5-7 in 2007, and let's face it, Crum is no Casey Bramlet. Or Corey Bramlet. Or any other Bramlet.
Side note: definitely left off that list above is BYU quarterback Max Hall, who I'm absolutely convinced will lead the Cougars to at least 11 wins this season. And by watching that video, it's now a proven fact that the P.O.D. hit "Boom" must be played for any current or former ASU player during a highlight montage.
